The Ni substitutes for part of the Fe, and investigates how the thermal mechanical treatment influence on the microstructures and magnetic properties of the Fe65-Pd30-Ni5 (5 at.%) alloys. The Fe65-Pd30-Ni5 (5 at.%) alloys homogenization are cold forged and hot forged to gain a ~36% reduction , respectively,and than through annealed recrystallization at 1100 ℃ for various times and quenched in ice brine. The microstructures are investigated by SEM,x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Vickers mircrohardness(Hv) test the P3 strain indicator and recorder is performed to study and search for the optimal magnetostriction of the annealed recrystallization condition. The strain forged and solution-treated (ST) samples after aged at 500℃,700 ℃and 900℃ for 100 hours and quenched in ice brine are investigated by SEM、x-ray diffraction , Vickers mircrohardness test and magnetostrictive-meter equipment. The microstructures and magnetic properties study results indicate that the closer grain distance has a higher magnetostrictive strains,saturation magnetostriction,and has a lower Vickers mircrohardness.The Vicker minohardness is inver proportional to the magnetostriction.The peaks of x-ray diffraction (XRD) are also effect the magnetostriction values and the Vickers mircrohardness test values.
