Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 觀光與餐旅管理系 === 100 === In recent 20 years, with the economic growth, national income increase, and two days off a week, makes domestic tourism drive motel growth that prevailed, new competitors invest in this market continuously. However, because of different customs and operating patterns changed, motels have negative images.
More and more people value the motel industries, but the research for this area within limits. Moreover, the owners try every possible critical success factor to attract customers. The reasons are many outdated motels faced closed under the intense competitions. Based on the reasons, the main goals are to figure out the motivation, critical success factor, and all issue of the motel operation. The owners to critical success factor if there are apparent differences between the different basic characteristics.
This research was conducted by owners of registered motels in Taiwan from March 29, 2012 to May 31, 2012. Each of the 226 subjects was given a questionnaire to fill out. A total of 138 questionnaires were returned. Out of those, 61% was valid (138 out of 226).
The results of the questionnaire along with the data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, multiple response analysis, one-way ANOVA, scheffés posteriori comparisons.
The results are reveled as the following:
1.The main motivations of owners invest motels are social services, enterprise and interests. And the depressions, high human resource turnover rates, and criminal sites are the main issues.
2.The critical success factor of motel operation have 5 directions and according to the high average rate to law are motel operation management, human resource management, styles, marketing and sales condition, and location. The critical success factor will be difference because the change in professional title and employee numbers.
3.The critical success factor has apparent differences in professional title , employee numbers and scale.
