Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 100 === With constant occurrence of lightning disturbance, the overhead transmission lines in Taiwan are often struck by lightning which leads to power interruption. In order to reduce and prevent the lightning accident, engineers have to calculate the immune strength to the lightning for each line and redesign for better tolerance. In the current practice, engineers collect data and run calculation in a manual way. It’s time consuming and difficult to get good result with better accuracy. This research started with the analysis of the data required to calculate lightning strength, and then explore the relationship of the data sets. The data are used to build an overhead transmission line properties data base to integrate all the information needed for the design, such as types of the pylons, conductors, the grounding wires, connection number of the insulators, etc. We developed a web-based engineering platform with handy interface to integrate the design data base and the ATP-EMTP (Alternative Transient Program-Electromagnetic Transient Program). The research greatly improves the efficiency and effectiveness on the design work for the lightning tolerance of the overhead transmission line system.
