- A Case Study of PingHsi Sky Lanterns
Abstract
The study aims at exploring the local wisdom, happiness, and locality attachment, and their relations between the festival efficiency. The case study on of PingHsi Sky Lanterns was conducted. We took the residents in PingHsi Area as objects of this study. The stratified random sampling is applied to households as sampling units. The surveys were conducted by questionnaires in which questions were answered by over 20-year-old adults in the households. 500 questionnaires in total were distributed, and 468 copies were collected. Among them 450 valid questionnaires were received with a effective response rate of 96.15%. Descriptive statistics, reliability and validity, Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling and some other approaches were used to make data analyses and discussions. Meanwhile, structural equation model was applied to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability and validity of inspection scale. Furthermore, path analysis was applied to test the wisdom of locality, happiness, locality attachment and their relations among paths in terms of festivals efficiency. The empirical findings show the wisdom of locality would not be directly correlated with happiness. Moreover, happiness would not be favorably correlated with festivals. Nevertheless, the wisdom of locality would be favorably correlated with the locality attachment to the efficiency of festivals. In addition, happiness would be influenced over locality attachment and furthermore, happiness would be remarkably and favorably correlated with festival efficiency. The findings show that by the help of locality attachment, residents’ wisdom of locality would increase their recognition to locality and reliance as well as enhance the festival efficiency. In conclusion, we offered proposals to relevant departments and proprietors who may sponsor activities and other researchers as future references.
