Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用心理學系碩士班 === 100 === In daily life, we often see or hear the news about couples who use revenge cop-ing strategies when breaking up. It can clearly be seen there will be very strong anger or resentment after splitting up. According to the literatures on the relationship subject, there are four emotional responses such as “sadness”, “anxiety/fear”, “anger” and “shame/remorse” after breaking the relationship. This study believes that breakings is a result of romantic relationship failure, and was to investigate the relationship among attribution of romantic relationship failure, actively vs. passively end the relationship and emotional responses after breaking the relationship. The main findings were as follow: The traditional factors are not the main prob-lem of the relationship breaking down anymore. However, the difference of the per-sonalities and the outlook of their lives are the main reasons of relationship breaking down. In the cognition, if the reason for breaking up due to other factors, it would lead to "sadness", "anxiety/fear" and "angry" emotional responses, but will not lead to "shame/remorse" emotional response; if the reason for breaking up due to self or rela-tionship issues, it will not affect the negative emotional response. In actively vs. pas-sively end the relationship, passive end the relationship will cause "anxiety/fear" and "angry", but will not bring in a "sadness" and "shame/remorse"; and actively end the relationship did not produce significant effects in the negative emotional response. In interaction effect, only other factors and actively vs. passively end the relationship had interaction effect. For people who actively end the relationship, the “sad-ness”, ”anxiety/fear” and ”anger” in "High other-factor" group will be higher than "Low other-factor" group. For people who passively end the relationship, the “anger” in “High other-factor” group will be higher than “Low other-factor” group. On the other hand, if other factor is the main problem of the relationship breaking down, ac-tively or passively end the relationship people mostly have the same responses “sad-ness”, “anxiety/fear” and ”anger”; but if other factor is not the main issue of the rela-tionship breaking down, the responses “sadness”, ”anxiety/fear” and ”anger” in "Pas-sively end the relationship" group will be higher than "actively end the relationship" group. Furthermore, comparing with Qualitative data and Quantitative data, Qualita-tive data could show the romantic relationship development and changes in the course of the end of the motor.
