Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 社會福利學系碩士在職專班 === 100 === This study was to evaluate effects of the Head Start Program on vocabulary, behavior development, and personal interaction of preschool children of immigrant mothers. The sample was from a nursery in New Taipei City, and there were 66 preschool children of immigrant mothers included in this six-month longitudinal research. Through the Head Start Program, whether improvements of vocabulary, behavior development and personal interaction could be verified. According to the results, some suggestions were provided. The statistical methods employed descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that the improvements of vocabulary, behavior development and personal interaction reached statistical significance; moreover, children of two-parent families had more improvement than children of grandparent families, and educators could pay more attention at this point. Preschool children of immigrant mothers had significant improvements on vocabulary, behavior development, and personal interaction due to the Head Start Program; therefore, some suggestions were afforded for improving the Program. More importantly, the preschool children of immigrant mothers could be benefited by this study.
