The questionnaire was used for evaluating the relationship between social support and fertility desires. The survey data were collected from hospitals, schools and banks in Taipei, and the internet was also employed as a means. There were 348 women analyzed in this research, and statistical methods included descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression. The results showed that: governmental support is the most important resource of social support, and attitude and price of childbirth were two significant factors in explaining fertility desires. The feeling of social support was significant difference in number of years of marriage, desired children, caregivers, caring time, occupations, and family income. Moreover, fertility desires had significant difference in number of years of marriage, desired children, caregivers, caring time, occupations, and family income. The higher education and the more desired children, the more positive attitude on childbirth; in addition, the higher price of childbirth and the more hindrance in childbearing, the more need in social support. The findings also illustrated that the personal situation and social support were two major predictors in explaining fertility desires of professional women. Furthermore, governmental support is the strongest factor to evaluate the willingness of childbearing among professional women. Last but not least, some positive suggestions were provided in this study. Luke Yang, Ph.D. 楊立華 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 160 zh-TW |
