When the product life cycle has entered the mature stage, the market is crowded, the demand dropping and the product standardized, companies that lack of competitiveness have difficulty to survive in the oligopolistic industry. Therefore, developing the best completive strategy is critical for the case company to sustain. This study first adopts Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model to analyze the Optical Disc Drive industry. Then it uses SWOT framework to identify the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats for the case company. Finally, combining the result of analysis with the present market situation, this study develops competitive strategy and suggestions for the case company to consider in the future.
