Most recently, the travel industry has been the most recent industry to be effected by the forces of social media. Travelers have gone from using travel agents to book a trip, to utilizing the Internet and social media networks. There is a rising trend in using social media tools as a form of advertisement, with more businesses turning to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as marketing tools. Many major travel industry companies have turned to social media marketing, and results show that it has proven to be successful.
