ABSTRACT
The purpose of rearch is to explore the current status of correlation between implementation of character education and school bullying behaviors in junior high school students in New Taipei City, and also compare their differences between the varied personal backgrounds.
Sampling is consisted of junior high school students in New Taipei City.The study adopted a questionnaire titled ”The Questionnaire of character education implement and school bullying behaviors in junior high school students in New Taipei City.” One thousand fifty-five students have been inquired to complete a questionnaire created and edited by the researcher. Nine hundred sixty-three effective questionnaires were collected and the available rate of questionnaires was 91%. The data were collected and analyzed by means, standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The results of using statistical methods to analyze the investigation data was addressed to the following conclusions:
1.The junior high school in New Taipei City character education implement well, especially in the aspect of “core values” although the performance of “The informal curriculum” needs to be improved .
2. The most commonly bully behavior of the junior high school students is common bulling.
3. character education implement shows significant distinction on genders, grades, ways of parental discipline and size of the school
4. School bullying behaviors shows significant distinction on genders and size of the school.
According to the result, the research provides some suggestions for teachers, school administrators, institutions of teacher education, education administration authority in New Taipei City and reference of future study.
