Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 化學系 === 100 === In this thesis, six unique monolayer-protected gold nanoparticles (MPNs) were synthesized and were employed as interface materials in a micro sensor array system for common volatile organic compounds (VOCs). All six MPNs characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, UV/vis spectroscopy and TEM for particle size distribution and outer organic ligand composites. Two micro-sensors, interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) were used to measure the correlation of resistance change and the mass adsorption when exposes with varied VOCs vapors.
Six MPNs showed different sensitivities to VOCs due to different outer organic ligands. Linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) indicated MPNs materials had their unique partition coefficients because of their different interaction force to target VOCs. All MPNs sensor responses were analyzed with different chemometrics methods to understand capability VOCs identification. With QCM or IDEs individual signals, target VOCs were effectively separated in score plots by principal components analysis (PCA). Cluster analysis results showed these six MPNs materials can distinguish 11 common VOCs. Discriminant analysis also demonstrated more than 87% recognition rate. With combination of QCM and IDEs responses, the recognition rate increased to 100%. The sensor array system combined with different sensing mechanism can clearly identify common VOCs targets.
