Forming captive insurance is better than forming commercial insurance because of forming captive insurance can reduce insurance costs and have flexible insurance coverage. The reason for local companies in Taiwan have not formed captive insurance company so far is the regulations are more strict than other areas with captive insurance company. Therefore, the study mainly discusses the feasibility to form captive insurance for local companies in Taiwan and solvency problem. We could develop suitable captive insurance type and business model for our country by analyzing the environment of Taiwan and other areas with captive insurance company. Providing the reference direction of the future development of captive insurance for local companies in Taiwan, in order to reach the goal to reduce insurance costs, expand the insurance market and increase corporate value.
