Using action research, the study designed a reading-club activities program, which was conducted one time per week and 90 minutes per time for ten weeks. This study investigates how to effectively apply this reading-club activities program to teaching as well as the challenges encountered and possible solutions. The implementation effectiveness of the activities program was assessed qualitatively and quantitatively in the present study. The qualitative data include learning sheets, practice worksheets, general feedback sheets of reading-club activities, observation records, research logs, and situation observations, with the aim to understand the change of the interpersonal relationship of the study subjects. For quantitative analysis, a pre-test/post-test with “sociometric test questionnaires” was conducted before/after the activities program was implemented. These pre-test and post-test results were compared to evaluate the difference before and after the program. Besides, the collected statistics were analyzed using averages and Paired-Samples T-Test to further clarify the effectiveness of the program. The conclusions are as follows: 1.Effective activities of the class-reading club include: warm-up, guided reading, discussion, practice, feedback, and extension activities. 2.Six possible solutions were developed against five types of difficulties encountered during implementation of the class-reading club. 3.Qualitative analysis: (1)The class-reading activities program was able to raise children’s interests in reading. (2)The class-reading activities program allowed children to learn interpersonal skills. 4.Quantitative analysis: Implementation of the class-reading club activities program focusing on enhancing interpersonal relationship improved the interpersonal relationship of the first-grade students. 5.Implementation of the class-reading club activities program could promote the personal growth of the researcher. According to the above findings, the teachers are advised to implement class-reading club in teaching and future research. Fong-Seng Hu 胡鳳生 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 152 zh-TW
