The history of human using lipsticks can date back to a long time ago since only prostitutes would wear lipsticks in the early society. Nowadays, lipsticks have been widely accepted and wearing them even was regarded as basic manners. The intention of wearing the lipstick changes from the basic usage of covering to essential elements of fashion in acting or in some special occasions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference of the customers, the basic image of the lipsticks as well as the factors to be considered while they purchase the lipsticks. As a result, the study will mainly focus on the selling locations, prices and the timing in order to provide manufacturers with better understand of customers’ needs. The image of lipstick colors to the customers today is based on both fashion and practical functions. According to the studies, men and women like different types of color of lipsticks. The former prefer vivid tone while the latter prefer light one. Therefore, the color of lipsticks will be one of the crucial elements for customers to purchase.
