Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 工學院碩士在職專班 === 100 === With the demands of children with special needs on physiological and psychological development, special education is considered tougher than ordinary education. Besides, a competent teacher in special education is required to present abundant professional knowledge, teaching effectiveness, positive personality traits, and healthy body and mind. Work value is regarded as the major factor in individual occupation selection and career planning. Meanwhile, it could deeply affect the individual resignation. A lot of teachers in special education experience frustration and pressure at work that the turnover rate is rather high. Such an education issue is worth discussing. Having the elementary school teachers in special education in Taichung City be the research subjects, this study tends to discuss the effects of personality traits, work value, and sense of well-being on turnover intention. Total 170 questionnaires are distributed and 130 valid copies are retrieved. The questionnaire contains personal data and the scales of personality traits, work value, sense of well-being, and turnover intention. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, stepwise regression analysis, and moderating effect analysis are applied to the statistical analyses.
The research discovers that the elementary school teachers in special education with personaility traits of openness, extroversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness appear higher sense of well-being on the job. The ones with neuroticism present higher negative emotion. In terms of work value, the dimensions reveal positive correlations and positive effects on positive emotion and life satisfaction, but appear negative correlations and negative effects on turnover intention. Life satisfaction in sense of well-being and positive emotion present negative correlations and negative effects on turnover intention. Finally, sense of well-being appears partially moderating effects on work value and turnover intention.
