In a high technology society, education is the impetus to the advancement of the society. Teachers’ information literacy, capability of information technology and satisfaction of teaching resources in teaching are the important factors in education. This study discussed the relationships among information literacy, capability of information technology and satisfaction of teaching resources in teaching of teachers in Changhua County. Hopefully, the results are to be used as references in decision makings of promoting IT integration, arousing attentions both in schools and teachers as to the importance of IT literacy and integration in teaching, and also the importance of IT education for our next generation.
This study targeted elementary school teachers in Changhua County. Random sampling of 420 questionnaires with return of 411 (return rate of 97.2%), invalid questionnaires of 3, with total of 408 valid questionnaires. Content of questionnaires included four parts: personal information, teachers’ information literacy scales, scales of technology integration abilities and scales of integration satisfaction. SPSS 12.0 is used for statistical analyses, which included description statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analysis.
The results showed: significant differences in IT literacy of teachers’ qualification, age, years of services, position held and the size of the schools; significant differences in capability of information technology in teaching of teachers’ qualification, age, position held and the size of the schools; significant differences in teaching satisfaction of teaching resources of teachers’ qualification, age, position held and the size of the schools. The results also showed positive correlations between teachers’ information literacy, capability of information technology and teaching satisfaction of teaching resources.
