Summary: | 博士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 100 === This research aims to investigate cultural capital and citizenship holdings of primary school students. Research analysis focuses on the relationship built between family cultural capital holdings and the citizenship of students. After adapting an quantitative methodology, this research intends to explore how family background makes difference on students cultural capital holdings and citizenship, and correlation between cultural capital holdings and citizenship. The main purpose is to predict various patterns of citizenship of students’ cultural capital holdings going with primary school students.
Research observations are obtained by questionnaire.The question-
naire is designed according to related literature reviews, and 770 school children in Changhua country are selected as research samples.
Among those who are selected, 765 primary school students,which comes to a return rate by 99.4%. With coding from participants, statistics-
mean, standard deviation, and t-test have been adapted as testing different variations. Furthermore, we investigate relationship between dependent and independent variables by using analysis one-way and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA),Prudut-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
Following research findings are obtained:
1.Cultural capital and citizenship holdings situation of primary
school children are fairly good in Changhua county.
2. Girls have higher cultural capital and citizenship holdings than boys.
3. School children from complete-structured families have higher cultural capital and citizenship holdings than those from incomplete-structured families.
4. School children with high socio-economic status have higher cultural capital and citizenship holdings than those with middle or low socio-economic status.
5. School children in urban area have higher cultural capital and citizenship holdings than those in rural area.
6. Cultural capital holdings of school children are highly correlated with their citizenship.
7. Cultural capital holdings and citizenship of school children are not affected by gender and family structure.
8. Citizenship of school children can be effectively foreseen by their
cultural capital holdings; particularly, Cultural goods has a highest foreseeing capability with children’s citizenship.
