The study of being parenting experience toward family treatments of the client who were identified as child abuser

碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 社會工作系碩士班 === 100 === This research used the narrative analysis to observe the relationship between the abuser and the parenting experience. The goal for this research was to understand the abuser on parenting after receiving the family maintenance services. There were three participants in this research, and all of them were abusers who have received family maintenance services. Also, these three parents played the main role on parenting their children. Based on the true stories from them, the study will be analyzed into two ways. One was called “Integration vs. form”, the other was “category vs. context”. The three objects of the study were classified in four different parts. First, parent’s past and present. Second, how parenting influenced children’s personality and attitude. Third, how did these parents choose their kids’ schools and place to live. Fourth, parenting experience and how did they change after receiving the family maintenance services. The following main points were from the research. (1) Social work resources. EX. Connection between consumer’s goods and its related resources. (2) Parenting with love and logic. (3) Influence from biological parents (4) A parent''s role in education (5) A parent’s mind and parenting style change after receiving family maintenance services (6) A parent’s reaction on parenting education programs. According to the results of this research, researcher made the following suggestions. (1) Services delivery reflection: First, assist the target abusers with economic supplies. Second, society supports and emotional understanding. Third, strengthen the frequency and quality of visitation of children in placement. Fourth, provide home-style parenting education demonstrations and information to reduce involuntary feelings. (2) Improve social workers’ competence: family maintenance service is not just task-oriented to stop improper parental discipline. As the treatment processes, understanding of abusive parents’ psychological issues, marital status, working conditions, personality, interpersonal situations, child development knowledge ... and so on, help abusive parents to identify their parent-child relationship, to foster communication and interaction among family members, to enhance family support, and to achieve the ultimate goal- well-functioning interaction establishment and lower rate of child abuse violations. (3) Further study- more projects about target abusers’ perspectives on child protection related cases. For instance, reasons to abuse, feelings and thoughts of being recognized as violation of Children and Youth Welfare Act, and views of related family maintenance services.
