For elder people, there is a threat in falling induced injuries. Firstly, the observation and questionnaire were carried to collect possible problems of the commercial available single rod walker. There are four supporting bar in the base of walker to fulfill the need of stability. But while going up or down through stair, the width of four supporting bar is wider then stair. Two kinds of modify single rod walker design were proposed to improve this problem. Both the foldable stand and the walker with rectangle edge show positive feedback from the participants. By supervised of medical doctor, elder people also practice the proposed design, and results in high acceptance. Then we study utilized pressure sensors to control walking aid machine movement. The data from three pressure sensors are analyzed, and the pressure distribution is used to set the proper motor response to ease controlling the walking aid. Pilot study indicated the design reduced user’s workload and effort, which has a positive impact on users. Fang-Lin Chao 趙方麟 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW
