Engineers are trying to find out the best way to construct buildings with safer components and extend a building’s duration. There are some adverse factors will make the building structure not as good as original design and even reduce seismic capacity of the structure, such as poor quality of construction, improper use, earthquake and come-to-the-end of building’s life cycle. After conducting a security assessment to damaged building, except those seriously damaged buildings need to be torn down, reinforcement would be a suitable solution for less damaged or partial damaged buildings. A RC structure rehabilitation project will begin after following steps are done. First, complete a on-the-spot investigation and evaluation of a structure. Secondly, confirm areas which need to be reinforced, and decide forms and materials of a structure. Finally, begin to work on the structure. There are no relevant operating standards about prior assessment of the structural seismic capacity diagnosis to follow. The reinforcement design and construction methods often vary from person to person. In this study, in order to evaluate the correlation of damaged spots, the methods of reinforcement and other factors, several reinforced cases are analyzed to make sure if those methods were proper or not. This study found that the cost of reinforcement under different building’s life cycle would vary with their purposes of usage. However, an after-reinforced assessment provided by the constructor is helpful to shorten the expectation gap towards the result of reinforcement.
