Summary: | 碩士 === 清雲科技大學 === 國際企業管理研究所 === 100 === This research focuses on the statistic of tourists visiting Taiwan and some other data related to the economic factors. It aims to find out how our domestic economy is influenced and contributed by the number of tourists visiting Taiwan. To determine the possible essential economic factors which may affect tourists’ willingness to visit Taiwan, it is crucial to analyze the correlations of them. In addition, it highlights the correlation of economic factors and number of tourists as a way to dominate tourists’ characteristics and preference and to explore the potential of our sightseeing market.
The research sources are adapted from the “Yearly statistic of tourist visiting Taiwan”, Tourism Bureau, which covers the number of tourists yearly, boom index, GNP, consumer price index, exchange rate, interests, stock index, and unemployment rate, and are analyzed by Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. I am hoping to find out the correlation in between and to raise issues. The research has shown that the price index and exchange rate have the highest relevance to the number of tourists visiting Taiwan. Other variables such as boom index, stock index, and unemployment rate have less relevance to it. I hope that the present research study can be a helpful reference for relevant units regarding their further policy improvement, and for the development of rules and regulations, decision-making and sales promotion that suit our sightseeing industry, and raise our competitiveness in sightseeing.
