The research analyzed and discussed the operating competitiveness of Taoyuan county’s elementary schools by applying DEA and SPSS. Input variables included years of school、numbers of the newly registered students for 93 school-year、numbers of graduated students for 98 school-year on 6-school years of elementary school、ratio of teacher to student、extension area of school building 、classroom area、education of teachers etc. Output variables include number of graduated students and number of total classes. Results got through SPSS and DEA by applying the certified datum of 181 Taoyuan elementary schools as the basis of evaluation. The research indicated that the figure for the average classes of 181 Taoyuan elementary schools was 30.68 for 93 school-year,29.33 for 98 school-year, lesser by one class apparently caused by lower birth rate. Additionally, regarding those 36 schools that the number of graduated students increased,9 of them reconstrctured their school buildings, 21 schools were newly-built,3 of them were due to the increase of homes because of land-reprogrammed and the left 3 were not among the three categories mentioned above. The effects of school building recon structure on school competiveness are not so definitely. Though there were 21 newly-built schools increased the number of students year by year, some newly-built schools like Da Yo,Chi Wen, Gun Dea, Sin Fu, Tan Sin ,etc. The number of students decreased just opposite, indicated that newly-built schools had not effects on the number of students definitely.
