In recent years, the demand for diverse products and earlier delivery date cause the process of mold development become more and more complicated. The two demands also make all components cannot be efficiently managed or arranged during mold producing. How to arrange producing schedule turns into a challenging issue of combinatorial optimization. Meta Algorithms such as Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithm and Ant Colony System are tried to be applied in producing schedule. Among these, Ant Colony System is an optimization method based on simulating the foraging behavior of ants. It’s been widely used in solving optimization problem and had better results. Thus, Ant Colony System is applied here to improve mold producing schedule in response to demands and changes in market without sharply rising cost. This research focuses on finding out an optimization flow of producing schedule in mold development under CAD software structure. Mold-manufacturing is a Job-shop Scheduling Problem. Due to the order of processing elements with limited machine, this paper tries to conclude a best way to compute mold-manufacturing schedule by adopting the searching ability of Ant Colony System. In this way, time of producing mold will be shorter to lower production cost and enhance business competitiveness. This study can also provide a deeper look at the restriction of planning mold-manufacturing and the efficiency of using resources. Through following the guiding interface to finish the steps and timing estimation of algorithm, processing time and recommended values are provided according to the formula of processing theory when cutting parameters are inputted. Then those planned components can be arranged in an optimized way with mold-manufacturing schedule coping with working schedule. Enhancing the accuracy of schedule estimating integrates the mold designing system with producing system, so that the whole system becomes a collaborative and efficient one.
