Experimental approach is to combine the aluminum substrate of LED chips with controlled thermoelectric cooling modules to simulate the change of environmental temperature from -20 ℃ to 60 ℃. At the same time, making fixtures for all kinds of LED lamps, and using optical measurement system of integrating sphere to measure optical and electrical characteristic data of the LED lamps under different temperatures. The data includes color temperature, color rendering index, luminous flux, illumination efficiency, color coordinates and power etc. By comparative analysis of these data, the relationship between optical characteristics of the LED lamps and temperature variation can be obtained. Based on the results, the causes and the effects on luminaires design can be concluded and can be the references of LED luminaires design in the future.
