Higher strength performance and balance controlling could reduce falls in senior. Purposes: To investigate the effects of 12 weeks functional training on balance ability in elderly. Methods: Fourteen healthy elderly subjects (age 72.5 (4.2) years old, height 155.6(6.1)cm, and weight 58.70(11.7)kg) were recruited. They were performed 12 weeks functional training. The balance performances including visual, vestibular, proprioception, center of gravity controlling, gait stability and agility were measured before(B)/midterm(M)/after(A) training period. Results:(1)There were no significant difference in visual balance.(2) Vestibular balance: Turn in a full circle were significantly enhanced (B, 2.29(.61) points vs. M, 2.57 (.76) points; p=.04).(3) Proprioceptive balance: Stand with feet together and eyes closed were significantly improved (B, 3.43(.646) points vs. M, 3.86(.535) points; p=.008).(4) Center of gravity controlling: Backward were significantly reduced (B, 20.00(6.84) cm vs. M, 22.50(10.14) cm; p=.042).(5) Gait stability: Double support duration(B, 35.10(1.95)% vs. A, 31.83(2.94)% ; p=.007) and speed (B, 68.62 (11.45) m/min vs. M, 70.07(11.62) m/min; p=.000) were significantly improved.(6) Agility: Obstacles walk duration were significantly decreased (B, 24.58(15.87) seconds vs. M, 21.65(14.35) seconds; p=.000). Conclusion: 12 weeks functional training might have the benefits of the balance performance for the senior. Yen,Ketien 顏克典 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 71 zh-TW |
