The minerals content of a term infant mother is accepted as “gold standard food” for term infant, provided taken decently; but regarding that of a preterm infant mother, it is not the case at all. Therefore, we probe into the mineral and heavy metal amount change in human milk and it’s significance to serve as reference for mineral supplement regarding the deficiency in preterm infant group. This research divided into two groups: the 1st group collected human milk from mother of preterm infant; the 2nd group collected that of mother of term infant. The source of human milk sample: human milk individually and successively collected for 7 days, beginning on the 14th day post newborn delivery. ICP=MS was used for analyzing amount of mineral: calcium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium, zinc, manganese Result: in the preterm group, all the mineral calcium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium, zinc, manganese amount, during the 1st to 7th day of the experiment, calcium (226.04± 18.30 mg/ L)、cobalt (6.70± 2.53 ug/L)、chromium (8.11± 3.23ug/L)、copper (239.14± 49.56 ug/ L)、iron (0.37± 0.09 ug/ L)、magnesium (29.16± 3.87 mg/ L)、selenium (20.55± 7.01 ug/L)、zinc (953.79± 158.21 ug/ L)、manganese (8.81±4.63 ug/ L),the mean value per day has significant difference (P<0.05), and with significant decreasing trend ( P< 0.05); otherwise, in the term infant group, only the chromium amount in the breast milk has significant difference (P<0.05), and chromium、zinc with significant decreasing trend ( P< 0.05); Minerals of preterm human milk compared with that of term group: cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium have significant differences in the mean per day (p <0.05); cobalt, chromium, selenium, manganese mineral content has a significant downward trend (p <0.05). Conclusion: to meet the special physiological demand of the preterm, the breast milk mineral amount of preterm infant mother decreased day by day. Whether lead to mineral deficiency and influence the growth and development of preterm. It needs further investigation. Hui-Ying Huang 黃惠煐 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 68 zh-TW
