Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 100 === With the popularization of the Internet and computer, it is common that computer word-entry substitute for writing. But, literacy is an important learning target, and it can measure the quality of nationals, so it can not being ignored.A junior high school student typed with Chinese Phonetic Input method very fast, but he made many mistakes in writing his address. In addition, there are researches which find a correlation between the long-time experience with a computer word-entry method and the way the users of different methods process Chinese characters. We hypothesized that different computer word-entry method effects on the writing performance of the users. A survey is conducted by sampling on people who type Chinese characters with a computer word-entry. Based on literatures, this study develops a questionnaire which includes five parts: writing performance, the habit of using computer word-entry method , writing experience, Internet experience and personal characteristics. The hypotheses were tested by using descriptive statistics, ANOVA. 252 questionnaires have been collected; total valid sample is 236, marking the availability as 93.65%. From the results of this study indicates that different computer word-entry method has significant effects on the writing performance of the users. Orthography-based method users’s writing performance is significant better than phonology-based method users’s. The higher the written experience is, the better the writing performance in some kinds of characters is. Different frequency and using-time of Internet application has significant effects on the writing performance in some kinds of characters too. Besides, gender, age, career and education has significant effects on the writing performance of the users. Therefore, we suggest that students in junior high school and elementary school could learn orthography-based method, besides phonology-based method, in order to strengthen their writing performance.
