Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 建築與都市計畫學系碩士班 === 100 === This study is a design methodology developed based on Chinese chess game’s chessboard and the moving trajectory of the chess piece. The concept of chess board and trajectory is used to discuss the “chessboard disposition”, “spatial chess piece”, and the “spatial nature and characteristic” produced by it. Results are integrated as design method for the spatial form production of building design.
The method was established as an extension study of Chin-Chun Chan’s research Co-generation Interactive Production of Form and Site (2001). It is separated by two parts. One is “chessboard disposition”, which uses method principle to draw specific spool thread, making spool thread generate specific fixed point on site, and fixes points accordingly as the spatial initiative position for the chess piece. Second is the “spatial chess piece” where the combination method is used in three contact interface with two contact elements to form the basic module for the element as the “spatial chess piece”. This element uses “board” as the operation object with two change rules to produce new change element as the design methodology.
Verification method includes: 1. Basic spatial drilling: Explore operation characteristic and producing methods with two original conditions.
2. Simulative test: Examine whether the method can produce specific space in real spatial demand or not. 3. Example drilling: Test method with “chess disposition” and “spatial chess piece” in real environment.
This methodology’s key points: 1. Chessboard disposition: This method’s chessboard disposition can be operate according to set principle (non-fixed chessboard), and the characteristic of the site can be reflected. 2. Spatial chess piece: Chess piece of producing spatial form. Many chess could exist in one chessboard at the same time, and this reflects interactive relations produced by chess at the moment. 3. Dynamic reference: Operating conditions change incessantly where it only relates to conditions at the moment, the change method follows the operating position.
