| Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 土木工程學系碩士在職專班 === 100 === The study area is Jar-Kong Stream Catchment and a tributary of Nan-She Stream. The catchment’s area is about 6,100ha, and located in the specific area of Taipei water source which is an important water source area for the great Taipei area. Due to the soil in the area is not in good condition, the slop in the area is also too steep, and the area once was strongly hit by Fong-Wong, Sinlaku, and Jangmi typhoons combined with tones of heavy rain storms during 2008, at that time, massive landslides happened mostly in the study area. Thus, the eroded soil in the area goes into the downstream, pollutes the water quality and affects the turbidity of provided drinking water.
To protect the critical water source and to avoid raising turbidity of Xing-Dan Stream from floods coming with typhoons, hereby we want to know where the source of the erosion of catchment’s area come from and the reason why the deteriorating water turbidity in the downstream is caused. In the next step, the strategies on afforestion and recovering the landslide area in the catchment, and managing the torrents need be studied. Hence, we plan to do the research.
The catchment’s area has been included in the specific protection area of Taipei water source. In the area, there is no agriculture, and nor disturbance from human activities. The main hazard is the landslide from and the pile up at the side of the stream channels, and then slid down into its downstream and raise its water turbidity. Of course, the hazards also increase burdens of the downstream water treatment facilities and affecting the quality of drinking water.
Under the safety concern for the drinking water, first of all, we plan to control the soil erosion, recover the landslide area and improve the water quality. Secondly, in accordance with the view of hazard prevention, the possibility of engineering method, and reduction on the landslide scale, restoration engineering method and strategy on the slopland will be made. Due to there is no way for cars to reach the area, the target of protection should emphasis on the care and monitoring for natural environment and prevents the interference and damage on environment from human disturbances.
The main issue of this study is to protect the important water source in Taipei area, to mitigate the landslide from slope, to know the reason causing the water turbidity in its downstream, to protect on water source and take advantage on it at same time, and to enhance the protection on forest ecology in order to guarantee the continuing usage on the catchment’s area of national forest land, moreover, to reduce the treatment cost on raw water.
