Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 護理學系 === 100 === The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influential factors on oncology nurses’ knowledge, attitude and interventions regarding for cancer patients’ depression. There were 129 oncology nurses recruited from a medical center. This medical center has six oncology units in two branch hospitals which locate at two cities in the northern part of Taiwan. Except the nurses employed less than three months, all the other nurses who worked at these six oncology units were invited. A self-developed 66 items questionnaire was developed for this study. It includes three parts. While one focuses on nursing depression knowledge, one concentrates nursing depression attitudes, the other specializes in nursing depression intervention. The finding of this study were: 1. The oncology nurses’ accurate response rate of depression general knowledge, nursing intervention knowledge and total score of depression knowledge were 70.93%, 69.20% and 70.30%, respectively. 2. The average score of oncology nurses’ depression attitude was 7 (SD = .82) which showed a quite positive attitude. 3. The average score of oncology nurses’ depression intervention was 41.21 (SD=3.73) which represented the oncology nurses pretty often provided the appropriate care to depressive oncology patents. 4. The levels of nursing ladder system, the length of all nursing experience, the length of oncology nursing experience and the knowledge sources made significant differences on nursing depression intervention. 5. Besides, there were a significantly positive relationships between depression knowledge and attitude (r= .48, p< .05), knowledge and intervention (r= .473, p< .05), attitude and intervention (r=.467,p<.05). 6. After controlling for length of all nursing experience (3-5years) and the levels of nursing ladder system (N4) (total explained 16% of variance) , depression knowledge and depression attitude explained additional 16.3% and 7.2% of variance (F=24.15, p< .05) . The result of this study would provide a valuable reference to develop oncology depression nursing educational and training programs in schools and hospitals. With a good training program, clinical staffs are expected to be more capable to improve the patient’s depression problems.
