Thesurvive patients lived with dysfunction, which causes long-term andprofound dysfunction and consequences, affects the ability of their dailylives, impacts their psychological well-being and quality of life. According to previous studies, self-efficacy, activities of daily living, depressive symptoms may be relevant to quality of life. But few studies explore the relationship with self-efficacy, activities of daily living, depressive symptoms and quality of life. Therefore, the purpose of thisstudy was to examine the effect of self-efficacy, activities of daily living, and depressive symptoms on quality of life of the inpatient rehabilitation stroke patients. The study was a cross-section, descriptive and correlation design. One hundred and twenty two patients were recruited from two districtrehabilitation wards in a medical center. Used the structural questionnaires to collection data, the questionnaire contains: basic demographic data, disease-related characteristics, participate in the rehabilitation status, Stroke Self- Efficacy Questionnaire, Barthel Index, the Beck Depression Inventory and stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale. The data was analyzed by SPSS/PC 18.0 software for descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. In this study, we found that most stoke patients with moderate degree self-efficacy, the classification of depressive symptoms (including mild, moderate and severe degree depression) had 45.2%, and the activities of daily living showed heavily rely on the other people. The predict factors of quality of life were as follow Activities of daily living, Self-efficacy, depressive symptoms, Onset of disease, Marriage and lifestyle. The “Activities of daily living” affected strength domain, hand function domain, ADL domain, mobility domain, communication domain, and global assessment of recovery domain. The “Self-efficacy” affected strength domain, hand function domain, ADL domain, memory, and thinking domain. The “Depressive symptoms” affected memory and thinking domain, emotion domain, participation domain. The “Onset of disease” affected hand function domain and participation domain. The“Marriage and lifestyle” affected global assessment of recovery domain and participation domain. Those results could offered the clinical nurses to understand the relationships of the self-efficacy, activities of daily living, depressive symptoms and quality of life. Therefore, the clinical nurses can routinely evaluated those symptoms, to increase the self-efficacy degree, to ease depressive symptoms, to improve the activities of daily living, and then improve quality of life.
