The cost of power and materials raised continuously also make enterprises face difficulty in finance control, which cause the business entities to try every approaches to save the cost of operation and find new source of revenue. To IT department of enterprise, replace the legacy x86 servers is an important factor of the hardware investment policy. LEO SYSTEM, INC., the business entity of this study, merged three companies at the beginning of 2008. To meet the goal of forever operation and cost saving, take the server virtualization approach to implement an hybrid solution, which host over 100 servers in physical and virtual form to increase the resource utilization. Through the effective evaluation and planning process to introduce the virtualization technology, the company simplified the servers management, saved the cost of racks and power to fulfill the green commitment. The result of the project is the higher resource usage efficiency and lower carbon production. In this study, we look into the virtualization process of LEO SYSTEM, INC., and conclude the difference between the before and after of virtualization, the impact to operation of LEO SYSTEM, INC., which can be a reference to the companies who are evaluating or implementing the virtualization project.
