Those low-power consumption devices have different characteristics because of their characteristics. This paper presents a Hybrid Storage Placement Management (HPSM), that is a server architecture with high performance and low cost suitable for multimedia environment by using feature of towering reading in a hybrid storage system employing SSD and HDD. HPSM can improve performance and reduce the migration overhead via the Preference Table based on the features of SSD and HDD. Preference Table can be used to implement a prototype storage system with the multi-threshold to display different performance characteristics of read/write and access behavior of file by SSD and HDD to face the multimedia features.
