Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教育學研究所 === 100 === This study aimed to probe into the professional leadership of the principals in elementary schools, the present situation of the sense of community within schools and the school effectiveness. It also analyzed the influences of the contextual variables of schools and the individual variables of teachers on these three variables. The survey study was conducted in this study. The researcher sent questionnaires to 924 teachers of elementary schools of Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, and Yunlin County in the central area of Taiwan. There were 648 valid samples, and the rate of valid samples was 70.1%. The conclusions of this study were synthesized as follows: Perception of the elementary school teachers are in average-to-high extent to principals’ professional leadership, the sense of community within school and the school effectiveness. There are positive relationships among the whole variables and individual dimensions of the principals’ professional leadership, the sense of community within school and the school effectiveness. There was a significant predictability for school effectiveness based on principals’ professional leadership and the sense of community within school.
