Use a commercially carbon nanotubes acid pickling to remove metal catalysts for carbon nanotube surface, and then calcined to burning the surface of amorphous carbon, and this step for the purification of commercially nanocarbon nanotubes. Here experiments include three parts: first, using thermal chemical vapor deposition growth of branched CNT, and find the appropriate parameters to the growth of a branch of a small diameter and high density of branched CNT, and the lastthe optimal growth conditions for the reaction temperature of 560 ° C, flow than acetylene, ammonia for 5 sccm to 3 sccm, the feed time of 60 minutes. Second, the Gecko tape, the easiest way was prepared by adjusting the experimental setup and parameters, such as: join the branch of the proportion of carbon nanotubes as well as solvent-dispersed species, and to explore the trend of the temperature effect, different substrates and different angle of the weight-bearinglast measured maximum tangential load Gecko tape prepared DMF solution dispersed the maximum shear loading 53.99 N/cm2 .
