碩士 === 中央警察大學 === 消防科學研究所 === 100 === Disaster prevention and fire-fighting on the government's policy is a very important part, because it is not only the basis of social stability and people's lives and property safety ,are the fundamental stability of the state,too. In recent years, global warming is worsening, resulting in global climate is extremely unusual, has the serious disasters in all around the world, in August 1998 Taiwan is caused by Typhoon Morakot abnormal rainfall hit southern disaster, January 99, 2 months, respectively, occurred in Central and South American countries, Haiti and Chile earthquake of the century, has resulted in serious casualties and property losses, showing large-scale disasters, the trend has been increasing inevitably. Therefore, fire departments have except fire act of fire prevention, disaster rescue, medical emergencies , but also are responsible for the work of Disaster Prevention and Protection Act (disasters prevention, response, recovery reconstruction).That fire fighting resources is sufficient or not determines the energy of fire departments to face the disaster happened. This study is about the fire division of metropolitan fire department. The content of survey contains personnel, vehicles, equipment, office building, water. To understand the fire fighting resources of the fire division of metropolitan fire department is sufficient or not or has some parts needed to improve. The result of the research reveal that the most need of improvement of the fire fighter’s ability is the situation of lack of manpower. The most need of improvement of the fire building is the situation of lack of parking space. The most need of improvement of the fire truck is the performance of ambulance. The most need of improvement of the equipment is the amount of lifejacket and line-throwing guns. The most need of improvement of the water is the fire hydrant sign.
