Reading is the important way for children to absorb knowledge, however, in the information explosion era children''s reading situation is on the decrease. If we wish to raise children''s interest of reading, it should start from bringing back their interest to book. Through Tag-Reading system book, children could interact with books. For children, the book could speak means the book is alive, not only they can understand the content more efficiently, but also stimulate their senses, which could reach the effect of cultivating children''s interest.
This research from three stages to discuss how the Tag-Reading system book influences children''s reading interest, and make comparison with traditional picture book. The objects of this research are the children of second and third grade in elementary school, who just away from reading with their parents and teachers, and into the stage reading by themselves. The first stage of this research is the document analysis and the discussion of foreign cases, from the document analysis sorts out four analysis dimensions: attention, recreation, playfulness and participation, and from the discussion of foreign cases and reveal this four elements to respond to the information of the document discussion, and use this as the design basis for the experimental Tag-Reading system book. The second stage is the interview of experts, which includes the market condition and the suggestion for use, the former one is to complement the deficiency of document analysis, and the latter one is the reference of experiment. The third stage is experimental test, through experimental test to evaluate if there are significant differences in raising children''s reading interest between Tag-Reading system picture book and traditional picture book.
According to the results of the in-depth interview of this research, the Tag-Reading system picture book is not so popular in Taiwan. However, from the experimental results, find out that compared with traditional picture book, Tag-Reading system book raises more interest of book for children, and attracts more attention as well, and also provides more recreation, and through audio reading gets more children’s participation. Overall, children are more interested in Tag-Reading system book than traditional picture book. These factors are one of the important links for bringing children up the interest of reading, if use well, this is able to help children cross the transitional period of reading, and also expand a different market for the industry.
