Summary: | 碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 漢學資料整理研究所碩士班 === 99 === The purpose of the study is to discuss the outlandish writing of ‘Youyang zazu’. Five chapters are included. The first chapter is introduction, which gives a brief introduction about this thesis in terms of motivation, purposes, and methods. The second chapter explored the author, Cheng-Chi, Duan’s life and writing processes and his different novel versions. The third chapter probes the inheritance of the outlandish writing. The discussion will begin by the Paradise, the Ghostdom and the Imagination of the Southern and Northern Dynasties novels. Three different kinds of outlandish writings in the beginning and the flourishing Tang Dynasty are then presented, including the dragon palace, the dwelling place for demons and the imagination. Finally, Duan’s propositions are addressed into two parts. One is about the inheritance of the outlandish writing from previous generations; the other is centered on the descriptions of different countries and cultures. The fourth chapter analyzes the outlandish writing methods of ‘Youyang zazu’. Three analytical dimensions are involved, the importance of the subject selection, of the language application, and of the space construction. Duan’s subject selections contain: the extracts from other people, the study on ancient books and his previous reading experiences. The last chapter, conclusion summarizes that the outlandish writing of ‘Youyang zazu’ has not only reflected the cultural diversity in the Tang Dynasty, but expressed those Tang Dynasty literati'' outlandish thoughts.
