Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 休閒運動研究所碩士班 === 99 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between personal achievement goal orientations (task orientation, ego orientation and social orientation) and intrinsic motivation of elementary school teachers when engaged in leisure sports, and to explore whether goal orientations and intrinsic motivation influence personal leisure satisfaction. Based on the findings, the study is expected to propose helpful suggestions on how to encourage elementary school teachers to participate in leisure sports.
By adopting stratified proportional sampling method, the researcher got the samples mainly from elementary school teachers in Yunlin County, and among them, 391 samples were effective. The research tools included leisure sport goal orientation scale, intrinsic leisure motivation scale, and leisure satisfaction scale. The data were analyzed by the method of Pearson Correlation and Step-wise Regression Analysis. The results were as follows:
1. The subjects had the highest average on “social orientation” in the leisure sport goal orientation scale, scored highest on “leisure self-determination” in intrinsic motivation scale, and on “relax” in leisure satisfaction scale.
2. There was significantly positive correlation between the three dimensions of goal orientation and intrinsic motivation.
3. Social orientation and task orientation of goal orientation positively influenced overall leisure satisfaction, accounting for 27% of total variance.
4. Leisure commitments, leisure challenge, leisure self-determination, and leisure competence in intrinsic motivation all positively influenced leisure satisfaction, accounting for 60% of total variance.
From the results, we found that both goal orientation and intrinsic motivation could effectively affect leisure satisfaction. The researcher suggested elementary school teachers and relevant authorities create a high working and high social orientation atmosphere, and promote the importance of leisure sports to increase personal leisure commitments; and enhance the participation of teachers in the educational and social leisure sports to improve the overall leisure satisfaction.
