碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 99 === Design is a behavior of exploring the unknown trace. Nowadays, product design is not only focus on functionality and style. It must be a new way of thinking and perspective to design, finally create a new experience, amazement and touched impression. This study will research in-depth study by referring to diversity meaning of trace in different areas. From the traces of materialism, this study think over the trace of behavior and confer the trace of nature from archaeological, eventually redefine the meaning of trace by refer to Taoist and Chinese Art in product design. Afterward, it will associate subject with the creation of works by defining the image of trace, then transfer to a new design method. The new design approach will re-examine the relation among mankind, object and space, develop the future trace of product then eventually create a new concept of product type form the design process. The product will bring memories and convey a message to user. Keywords: design method, trace design, concept design
