The participants were 28 Aboriginal students, aging from 17 to 19 in an Aboriginal high school. The research was about designing SIR-KR English teaching model and exploring the issue of the principles in constructing an online singing platform. The subjects were asked to take vocabulary test, English learning motivation questionnaire, sing ten songs on a singing platform, replace parts of the lyrics, and response to the online singing platform. The pre and posttest of their vocabulary size and English learning motivation questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively while the subjects’ responses to the online singing platform were analyzed qualitatively. The findings of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The subjects’ vocabulary size had increased to reach statistic level after the use of SIR-KR model. 2. The SIR-KR model did not have positive effect on increasing the subjects’ English learning motivation, including their intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and self-efficacy. 3. All the students showed positive attitudes toward the use of SIR-KR teaching model. Based on the study findings, it is suggested that EFL teachers help their students improve their vocabulary size by integrating music with English learning. The results of this study demonstrated students’ perspectives of their learning from this practicum, which has implications for future practice and further research.
