Description
Summary:碩士 === 萬能科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 99 === According to figures from the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Statistics, the total value of Taiwanese exports rose from US$ 151.95 billion in 2000 to US$182.37 billion in 2004, and again to US$203.67 billion in 2009, meaning the value has increased by 34% in the past decade. In 2009, electronics constitutes the biggest item for all exports, accounting for US$56.66 billion, or 27.80% of the total. Most of the exported electronic products are semiconductors, electronic parts, and PCBs. For the majority of these electronic products, the PCB forms the primary component and constitutes the basic structure of these products. Thus means that virtually every electronic product requires a PCB as the basic building block to enable it to function. As such, this study will focus on studying 22 PCB companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The purpose of this paper is to measure production and marketing efficiencies in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry using Grey Relation Analysis (GRA) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) techniques. A total of 31 indicators were initially considered, with nine being finally selected - five indicators of production efficiency and four of marketing efficiency. Two of the 22 companies, namely, Chin-Poon and TPT had their priority production efficiency improvement and another two companies, YangAn and QEC, with priority in marketing efficiency improvement. The remaining eighteen companies evaluated need improvement in both production and marketing efficiencies.
