Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 資訊工程學系(所) === 99 === Cloud computing is one of the hottest topics in recent years. Resources can be set with user requirements for providing services in the cloud computing environment. What user only needs to pay is how much resources being used. Cloud computing applying virtualization technology to control all the physical machine resources, all of resources can be controlled and set in the virtual machine, and resources can be scaled flexibly. Virtual machine resources should be set before working on it, when user wants to change resources of the virtual machine, the virtual machine must be closed for resetting resources. This makes programs break off when working on the virtual machine. In this thesis, vertical scaling of the Linux-based virtual machine resource has been proposed. The checkpointing package DMTCP has been applied, when a process needs more resources in the virtual machine, the process can be live migrated to other virtual machine which has more resources. Thus, vertical scaling of the Linux-based virtual machine resource can be achieved. Experimental results show that by applying the proposed method, vertical scaling of the Linux-based virtual machine resource could be finished during an acceptable interrupt time.
