This research is to find out how it can stimulate elementary school students’ learning process when fairy tales are integrated in the music curricula. Aims of this study: first, its influence on students’ attitudes; second, its potential in developing students’ musical ability; third, the creation of a series of teaching activities in the music curricula integrated with fairy tales. By means of deliberate researching and self-designed teaching materials, the candidate undertakes the method of Action Research in the thesis, including interviews, surveys, related documentation, group assessments, in-class observation, video-recording, analyzing tables from the teaching diary, anecdotal records, and reflection feedback lists.
Outcomes from the Research:
1. The integration makes the learning process more appealing. It improves students’ learning attitudes, such as their concentration, motivations, willingness and interests.
2. The integration assists students in understanding the affections in the stories as well as the music.
3. The integration helps students in their musical training of dynamic marks and expression marks.
4. The integration can stimulate students’ potentials of creation and imaginations.
5. The integration strengthens students’ musical background.
6. The teaching means and class activities designed for the integration are worth promoting at all elementary schools.
