The Shi-Hti coal pit was closed in 1988, Jingtung villages as the industrial recession, the population decline. In 1994, The Council for Cultural Affairs began promoting community development policies, as a regional re-development opportunity. In 2000, Jingtong implemented Community renaissance, promote Jingtong voluntary recycling operations. In 2005, Being influence of environmental policies, through the shopping district counseling program to strengthen the sense of community and local residents continued dedication to bring sustainable development. Coal mining industry has an important energy industry in Taiwan, the industry has brought prosperity to some changes in the local impact. In this study first describes the historical development of the mining industry in Taiwan, and then with a major focus on the village development of Pingshi coal industry. Study Jingtong mine settlement as research objects, and features of the development process. Finally, try to above the coal mining industry on the impact of the development of Jingtong settlement, construction of mining development and space structure of the settlement context of relationships.
