Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 傳統藝術研究所碩士班 === 99 === Yangmingshan, the well-known backyard in Taipei, is a space having diverse cultural connotation. The occurrences of connotation are closely related to social background of the development of Taiwan in each period. Whatever the reason built up the Shan-Zhai-Hou Communal dorm for American army in Yangmingshan, its developing process corresponds with Taiwan social context. Michel Foucault said in the space investigation, “The important question, emplacement, clarifies not only whether people have enough space to live in the world but the following questions— among the human factors, to obtain the good result, we need to put the neighborhood and the systems of storing, circulation, recognition and division into the consideration and decide which one is our first priority to remain in the space in the certain circumstance (1984) .” The author will take the Shan-Zhai-Hou Communal dorm for American army in Yangmingshan as an example to investigate the development and changes of cultural connotation in this district as time went by and its correlation between the space change and social change. Other than that, we will further take the citizen preservation movement local organization did to keep Bank of Taiwan from buying this district as an example to discuss the process this special space has bee through from close to open up for people and show the extension of citizenship in the historic heritages as well.
