碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 99 === The creation mainly adopts the tolerance and diversity of metal compound media to attempt to combine the topics of a story, toys and tableware. The works set the theme on the folks fables in Chinese - The Mouse's Wedding - and include the plot into the design of the tableware. The process of the metals is used to "tell" the story. In addition to practicability, the designs are embedded with the factors of "playing" to give the function of making the whole set usable and playable under the plot of the story. In order to adding the ideas of the story and toys into the concept and the development of modernness and personal style, a lot of tin metal is used in the creations. The applications of tin material are mostly seen in religious ceremonies in Taiwan's folk traditions. There are many restrictions on the designs and the usages. However, tin is a material which is highly plastic and is of great tolerance to different materials. It has lower melting point and it is a poison-free material. In comparing to gold or silver, the price is cheap and will be easier to be popular for further promotion and application. Therefore, the creations use 99.99% pure tin as major application material and make it into practical tableware. This paper is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter covers the bases in theories. Chapter three to five introduces the contents, techniques and performance of the creations. Chapter six concludes the paper.
