In his music work has the characteristics of Brazilian music and personal qualities, which are Europe, American musicians and fans love, in Brazil has also been very highly respected. Although he is so famous in Brazil and international, in fact he is a self-composer; because he is rejecting the tradition of music education and the majority of European composers, his work has become more valuable. The author first exposed to his vocal works is so interesting about his abundant Brazilian harmonies and the strong Villa-Lobos’s rhythm, and then select the suite for voice and violin to become the subject of this paper.
The scope of this paper include the characteristics of Brazilian music, Brazilian music material, Villa - Lobos's life and music, “suite for voice and violin” etc., and in the scope of this paper, the author mainly “suite foe voice and violin”, In-depth analysis of the folk elements of this work and music features.
From the second chapter is to discuss the characteristics of Brazil and the folk song for the Brazilian music. The third chapter is the introduction Villa – Lobos mainly described his way of learning the music, the musician who almost made a better self-understanding. The fourth chapter focus of this paper is Villa-Lobos’s “suite for voice and violin” respective for “Beautiful girl and song”(A Menina ea Canção), the second song “I want happiness”(Quero ser alegre), the third song “villagers”(Sertaneja) to realize that background and characteristic of creative and be analyzed to understand Villa - Lobos's music characteristic and Brazil materials in his works. Chapter V will be integrating the above information and experiences as the author of the study summarized in this paper.
