Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 技術及職業教育研究所 === 99 === This study aimed to understand the correlation between the teacher empowerment and school organizational climate in junior high school and analyze the teacher’s perception of these two factors on condition that teachers have different background variables.
The Questionnaire Method was used, targeting junior high school teachers who were teaching during 2009 to 2010. A questionnaire was developed for use as the instrument in this study. There were 1,205 questionnaires distributed and 1,062 effective questionnaires were collected which accounted for 88.1%. Descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and canonical correlation were adopted and the conclusions were as follows:
1. The teacher’s perception of teacher empowerment was over upper-intermediate level.
2. Teacher empowerment in junior high school varied by their sex, age, position they held, level of the teacher’s degree, years of service, accumulated experience in administration and the school area.
3. School organizational climate in junior high school performed at upper-intermediate level. The organizational climate type presents twin peaks condition open-type and enclosed.
4. School organizational climate in junior high school varied by their age, position they held , years of service , accumulated experience in administration and the school area.
5. There was positive correlation between teacher empowerment and school organizational climate, especially in regard to these three types : teacher pledge, teacher associates and principal supports.
Based on the results, suggestions are provided for educational administration, teachers, and follow-up researches as a reference.
