Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 機電整合研究所 === 99 === Flake graphite cast irons (FC) are the most commonly used for the break disc material. This study focuses on comparing FC and compacted graphite cast irons (FCV) based on different testing parameters. Metallurgical test was used to observe the microstructure of graphite, EDS and SEM to measure the composition of cast state. Furthermore, the wear test, surface roughness, polarization corrosion, and corrosion immersion test were used to observe the surface morphology, abrasion resistance, coefficient of friction, and corrosion resistance. Results show the vermicular graphite structure of FCV has the excellent mechanical properties and physical performances than the FC. In addition, FCV also has higher corrosion potential, lower weight loss of corrosion immersion than the FC. It means the FCV has the good corrosion resistance to replace the FC for the material of brake disc.
